Yesterday evening we were hosted by the Electric Automobile Association, Silicon Valley Chaper.  Thanks to Jerry and his team for an excellent event.  Members had the opportunity to ride Zuumers and discuss their visions for the future of electric transportation.

If you are interested in the future of transportation, or would like to meet some experts in the field, find an EAA chpater near you…

From the Silicon Valley Chapter of the EAA:

Meet the Zuumer: Wednesday September 17, 2008, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Learn About The Zuumer Scooter From ZuumCraft.

Location: Hewlett Packard at 3000 Hanover Street, Palo Alto, CA 94034 Directions

Bill Lofft, CEO of ZuumCraft will tell us about their new product, the Zuumer. This three wheeled scooter is perfect for those short trips where you don’t need a car and don’t want to work up a sweat pedaling a bike or walking. You just step on it and go. The scooter has a unique leaning feature that allows is to slalom turn just like a two wheeled scooter but it stands up by itself when you are stopped. No need to put your foot down for balance.

Check out the video clips at their website.

Thanks to the EAA and HP… See you there!

ZuumQuest ‘08 Poster

Yikes! Ouch! At least once a week I hear this in a dream and run to find out where it is coming from only to find my wallet flopping around on the floor like a fish out of water! My wallet is crying over the seemingly relentless price escalation of gasoline, natural gas, heating oil, and the like, and everything tied to these resources: food, transportation, clothes, electricity, need I continue?

Now add in serious pollution, traffic congestion and global warming, which we hear about every day.  Though these issues have been building over time, it looks like we’ve now reached a tipping point of awareness and action on these environmental issues. The “Green” movement is in full swing now.  For example, the mayors of the San Francisco Bay Area have formed the Bay Area Climate Compact, with objectives that include increasing the use of electric vehicles.

This brings us to ZuumCraft and what we are doing to help alleviate some of these issues. We see a great need for an affordable clean-tech sustainable solution to the single-rider short trip transportation problem. Next week ZuumCraft is launching ZuumQuest ‘08 promote “clean tech” vehicles and the environmental benefits of “green” personal transportation.

ZuumQuest ‘08 will travel through beach communities building excitement about environmentally sensitive personal transportation.   TeamZuumer™ will meet with local personalities and notable companies who promote sustainable transportation, such as Tesla Motors, Google, engineering groups at Cal Poly, the Mayor of Santa Barbara, and other.
